Our Villages team has done a fantastic job coordinating safety amongst three concurrent, active projects! At this time we are building the Sales Center, the Healthcare Center and the Golf Cart Sales Center at Eastport, which amounts to over 150,000-SF of construction. This morning our field leadership held a Stand-Down with the 150+ workers currently on the site. The focus of the stand-down was Fall Protection and specifically discussed how to recognize and avoid misuse. Falls are the leading cause of injuries in construction, therefore our team went into great detail on how to properly use fall projection equipment and how to recognize these types of hazards. Some of the topics included Damaged and Worn Out Equipment, Energy-Absorbing Lanyards, Properly Adjusting Harnesses, Rebar Snap Hooks, Insufficient Anchorage Points, Using an Anchor Below the D-ring and Using the Correct SRL. We applaud the efforts of the entire Barr & Barr and subcontracting teams on our Villages projects – keep up the great work!
