Grand Opening: Moffitt McKinley Hospital

Congratulations to the team on a spectacular Grand Opening Ceremony for the new Moffitt McKinley Hospital! This gorgeous new ten-story, 498,000-SF state-of-the-art facility will begin seeing patients on July 31, 2023. The completion of McKinley Hospital is a huge step forward in bringing advanced inpatient surgical cancer care to our region. The patient experience will be enhanced through numerous features such as an improved registration and check-in process, smart-room technology in every patient room and advanced imaging technology, including an intraoperative MRI, which provides surgeons with real-time visualization to assist in their decision-making. Other amenities include nineteen new operating rooms, two nuclear medicine cameras, a CT scanner and MRI scanner, the Helen Rich Spiritual Retreat, the Ferman Family Garden and Pathways as well as a Family Resource Center, pharmacy, boutique gift shop, café, full-service cafeteria, and complimentary valet services. This project broke ground in June of 2020 at the height of the pandemic and despite many related challenges, we’re proud to deliver this project on time. We awarded over $60.7 million dollars to minority businesses in our area, and with more than 4,000 workers on site, this project provided over $308 million in direct salaries!
