The Bloomberg Center is the first of several buildings to be constructed of the new Cornell NYC Tech Campus on Roosevelt Island. The Bloomberg Center provides graduate students, faculty and administrators with a new facility for research and education. The building design reflects Cornell’s goals of creativity and excellence, providing flexible academic spaces and pioneering new standards in building performances and sustainability.

PROJECT DETAILS

The building is a new four story, 150,000 s.f. facility.

The structure will be constructed of steel and concrete.

The façade will be a unitized system of metal panels, windows and curtainwall.

The building will be heated and cooled by a closed loop geothermal system.

The roof is covered with approximately 40,000 s.f. of photovoltaic panels.

The project is LEED Platinum and net zero energy usage.
