Boston Athenaeum — Historic Renovations and Restoration, Boston, MA
The major renovation and restoration of the original Beacon Street Building, as well as areas within the Congregational House, included all new windows and climate controlled mechanical systems, new plumbing, electrical, security, and fire alarm systems, and necessary exterior stone and brick restoration. Architectural renovations to the building’s interior included a new entry lobby, elevator, exhibit areas, conservation laboratory, seminar rooms, reading rooms, and cataloguing areas.

PROJECT DETAILS
During construction, a temporary mini-Athenaeum was constructed allowing members continued access to the library’s book collection.
2005 Preservation Achievement Award, Boston Preservation Alliance.
New floors were added in both buildings to increase the collection and book capacity.
