Barr & Barr, Inc. is excited to announce the succession planning of its leadership team, announcing the appointment of Fred A. Hames as its new President. Fred assumes the duties of the current President & CEO, Keith W. Stanisce. Keith will continue as CEO and assume a new position as Chairman. Since joining Barr & Barr, Fred has exhibited and promoted the core values and culture of Barr & Barr, not only throughout the Southeast Region, but also played a vital role in company-wide operations and growth.
“Fred Hames is an invaluable contributor to Barr & Barr and absolutely integral to the Southeast Region’s explosive growth,” said Keith Stanisce, CEO. “Furthermore, he has been instrumental in developing and communicating important ideas in our business strategy and structure. We look forward to him bringing his client management expertise, energy and leadership to all regional offices at Barr & Barr.” In his new role, Fred will devote his time to continuing the long-standing, client-driven relationships that Barr & Barr is well-known for as well as drive strategic new growth and diversification of Barr & Barr’s services.
Fred Hames, Bio
Fred Hames has more than three decades of experience in the industry and has successfully managed a diverse construction portfolio of over $5 billion, primarily working with leading institutions and architects in the Healthcare, Academic, Corporate, Life Sciences, Hospitality and Mixed-Use Development Sectors. He has a reputation for building lasting relationships through integrity and honesty, and he consistently delivers world-class results for every client. Fred has worked with Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa General Hospital, UF Health, Sarasota Memorial Hospital and the University of South Florida for over twenty years, just to name a few. The longevity and the success of these relationships demonstrates his commitment to always prioritizing the needs of his clients.
Prior to joining Barr & Barr, Fred built a successful career leading teams on numerous hallmark projects such as: The $696 million University Medical Center in New Orleans, Nemours Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware, Synovus Bank Headquarters in Atlanta, as well as the Tampa Museum of Art and the Miami Science Museum. Additionally, Fred is a long-time supporter of numerous organizations, associations and non-profits such as the Moffitt Cancer Foundation, the Florida Council of 100 and Metropolitan Ministries. Recently, Fred was awarded the Corporate Leadership Award by the Tampa Organization of Black Affairs and was proud to receive the 2024 AIA Contractor of the Year Award in Tampa Bay.
