| 6 May, 2008 - Each May, Preservation Massachusetts recognizes the efforts and accomplishments of individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to preserving the Commonwealth's historic resources. This year Barr & Barr has the honor to have two projects awarded the Paul E. Tsongas Award which "Recognizes exceptional efforts in promoting historic preservation across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts".
The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts, Worcester, MA - "The restoration of this theatre has set the benchmark for the resurgence of Worcester's downtown while creating a cultural gem for the benefit of all Massachusetts".
The Colonial Theatre, Pittsfield, MA - "This Berkshire gem was reborn after previous use as a paint store and has quickly become a catalyst for other fantastic preservation efforts in Pittsfield and elsewhere in Western Massachusetts".
