Colonial Theatre issued a Certificate of Occupancy

25 August, 2006 - Barr & Barr was recently issued a Certificate of Occupany for the restoration of existing facilities to Colonial Theatre, Pittsfield. The Colonial Theatre was constructed at the turn of the Century (1900) and remained operational as a Theatre until approximately 1950. The project involved the complete gut of the existing theatre. Many architectural features were either preserved or reproduced to restore the theatre top its 1903 state. Additionally, numerous upgrades were made to meet current building codes and ADA requirements. This was necessary because the building is on the national historic register and the restoration was being partially financed by historical restoration grants. The project was completed two weeks ahead of schedule.
