PROJECT DETAILS

A high standard of sustainability was met through the use of recycled and locally extracted and manufactured materials, the reliance on building products with low-volatile organic compounds, the inclusion of low mercury fluorescent lighting and the installation of a highly reflective roof membrane to reduce solar gain and heat island effect. Certified LEED Gold.

Advanced preconstruction studies of the curtain wall system created a collaborative “design-assist” environment that was critical to this custom component’s success.

Minimized disruptions through extensive coordination with users occupying two active adjacent gymnasiums.

Flexible space/programming on the third floor was designed to accommodate programs such as Pilates, yoga, tai chi/qigong and dance.

2010 BSA Honor Award Citation for Design Excellence
